Shortbread Cookies

0

Happy Sunday y'all!

It's that time of the year again. Yes CHRISTMAS! ❄

I know its a while since the last post and all but I have this thing going in at work that kinda takes up all my time. Anyway here's a fail proof shortbread recipe for the coming holidays.

What you need:
1 cup butter at room temperature
60 gms/half a cup of sugar
A tspn vanilla extract
250 gm/approx 2 cups plain flour

Beat the butter till smooth. Add in the sugar, vanilla and flour to form a dough. Refrigerate for a few hours or overnight. Once its set, remove from fridge and leave it out for about 10 mins to get to room temperature. Flatten out to 1/4". Bake for 8-10 mins.

Happy baking!

No Bake Chocolate Cheesecake

0

So my oven hasn't been working for the last couple of days. Yeah that happened. My worst nightmare. For real. I was so upset that I needed CAKE to unupset me. Looked up for a no bake cake(yeah 'no bake', I was so upset that I didn't even realise that that made no sense.) and came across this amazing no bake chocolate cheesecake recipe.

Here goes, for the base/crust all you need is crushed digestive biscuits and a little melted butter to hold it together. 150g biscuits to 50g melted butter. Press into any tin or springform pan that you have at home. Using the bottom of a glass is perfect to get the base evenly spread. Refrigerate.

For the actual cheesecake, you'll need:
100g sugar
120ml double cream
150g melted dark chocolate(cooled)
2tbspn cocoa powder
200g soft cheese
Whip the double cream into soft peaks. Fold in the cooled melted chocolate and the cocoa powder. Beat the soft cheese and sugar together. Fold in the creamy chocolatey mixture until fully incorporated. Spread this heavenly mixture onto the base and refrigerate for atleast an hour to set and let all the flavours mix well(This probably was the most difficult part for me).

Once done, slice and dig in.

I'm hoping your reaction will be just as Chandler's.

Happy cooking!

Serradura

1

Macanese Sawdust Pudding! Yeah sawdust, the edible kind.

Whip up these three ingredients and you'll get the creamiest dessert ever!

And yeah what could possibly go wrong with double cream and condensed milk?! Whip the cream to soft peaks and then fold in the condensed milk. Voila! Your pudding is ready! Oh wait did I mention how much of each. Go for the 2:1 proportion(2double cream:1condensedmilk).  Now for the sawdust, you have to really powder any biscuits you have in the house (most preferably marie biscuits). Find a bowl or small glasses if you have any. Alternate the layers of the pudding and the sawdust starting with the pudding and ending with the crumbs.

Mike loves it too!

Mmm...Donuts!

0

Is there anything they can't do?
- Homer Simpson

I've been really so busy with work. But now I'm finally off after 15 days straight of work(I know I'm not the only one, am I?).

And since baking is my kind of de-stressing, I got to it.  My sister found this really cool mini donut maker and I was so excited to use it, so here the recipe!

Probably the most basic donut recipe.
All you need is;
8oz plain flour
4oz sugar
1 tbspn baking powder
A pinch of salt
6oz milk
1 egg
1/2 tspn vanilla essence
4 tbspn oil

Mix in all the dry and add the wet to it. Beat it to a smooth batter and all ready to bake, eat and bake some more and then eat some more.

Even Pooh has his eyes on them! Although he is wishing he had his pot of honey right now.

Do try out this recipe and let me know how it turns out. Happy baking!

Chapter One

0

Olá!

So I've sat down, pen to paper wondering what am I gonna write about in my very first blog post. Two minutes in I decided to take a short break(don't tell me you've never done that!). Made me some nutella sandwiched toasties, a really strong coffee & got back to business.

Hope you guys enjoy reading about my baking adventures as much as I love posting about them.

Like Robert Browning quoted 'The best is yet to come'.

Tchau tchau!
